Kallithea Springs

Monument, Rhodes Kallithea, Gr

Gardens, Parks, Culture & Heritage, Projects

The thermal Springs of Kallithea were used by the Italians in the early 20th century and is a current day monument enjoyed by people from all around the world. The thermal waters, unique landscape and architecture make the site attractive to many visitors. The project came about in conjunction with a new parking area designed by architect Pietro Lombardi which was inspired by the existing structures. The soft landscape was also renovated using native plant species and species that were introduced to the area by the Italians when they constructed the original buildings. The plants were chosen for their high tolerance for drought and salt water.
